Brown, Mathematical Modeling of Finance: An Introduction to Quantitative Analysis

Brown, Mathematical Modeling of Finance: An Introduction to Quantitative Analysis

From July to August 2023, I participated in the Summer@Brown course covering topics like compound interest, permutations and combinations, probability, and index funds. As a part of the course I watched lecture videos, attended office hours and discussion sessions, and also attended live lectures. We were assigned one assignment per week on the topics covered, made up question and answer worksheets, and we also submitted a group report which I worked on with 2 other classmates. The report was on the topic of different funds and the risk factor involved with each of them. At the end of the course I was awarded a certificate of completion for my work.

Oxford Summer Courses: Mathematics for the 13 to 15 Age Group at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge

In July 2022, I attended the two week Oxford Mathematics Course in Cambridge where I covered topics such as Calculus, Complex Numbers, Sequences, Combinations and Probability, Binomial Formulas and Pascal's Identity which were taught to us by Mr. Edward Young. During the course, I attended three hours of classes four times a week and also participated in self study sessions. I also completed assignments revolving around the topics covered which included mathematical word problems and equations which needed to be solved and submitted during the class. At the end of the course I was awarded a certificate of completion for my efforts.

In July 2024,I attended the YYGS program for the Solving Global Challenges track wherein I studied topics like Green Energy, What does “Quantum” really mean?’, and ‘Oppenheimer’s Consequences: Government, Infrastructure, and Indigenous Communities’. Further, I made a capstone project alongside 5 other group members on Global Wealth and Inequality. For this, we presented an NGO idea on ‘Cholera Action Program’ where our mission was “to protect and strengthen vulnerable communities against cholera in the city of Cite de Soleil, through the provision of rapid testing. Our team won the first place and mock $15,000, as per our budgeting for our NGO objectives.
